Dromoland - Entrance to Castle
Dromoland Castle is an impressive castle with turrets & towers. It was built in 1686 by the O'Brien clan, high kings of Ireland. It's located beside the River Rine on 400 acres of park lands & gardens that are home to various species of wildlife including a herd of deer. The castle was restored & refurbished in 1974 as a 100 unit hotel with 2 restaurants, a bar, an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, walking trails, etc. In 2004, a stay here could cost 204-1,364 Euro per night. View from castle grounds is to northwest.
