Whatever you do, in wet weather do not park your car in the lay by at the cattle grid opposite slope (west) on the Honddu road, on the grass edge to clear the road track. The right wheel locks onto the tarmac the left wheel just spins on the wet grass. So instead of reversing back up to the road after cars have passed, one moves progressively toward the track gateway with your nose. This happens on Shee Water when iced in December as well. The prospect of losing the car jammed in the gate or over a gorge is one that makes for hasty wheel turning to get both wheels on the hard surface, but by that time there is about 1 foot of forward motion available so that was the last risk attempt. I suppose I could have sat there for a couple of days until it dried out and then reversed?
