This remote grid square is most easily accessed via the well-made track (on left) that was laid to reach a large plantation to the north. The quarry (on right) is cut into dark limestone that fractures into small blocks and has been used to build the small enclosures and miles of stone wall found in this area. The limestone has also been used as hardcore for the track. The large boulder (bottom right) is composed of quartz conglomerate and may have been transported south from outcrops further north (i.e. it is a glacial 'erratic').
