S8511 : Bannow Bay at low tide

taken 12 years ago, near to Carrick, Co Wexford, Ireland

Bannow Bay at low tide
Bannow Bay at low tide
Seen at low tide from the R736 about two kilometres south of Wellington Bridge. Strictly speakingm Bannow Bay is not a bay but the estuary of the Corock River. Although not obvious from the photograph, there were many hundreds of godwits on the tidal flats. The eastern side of the Hook Head Peninsula can be seen on the far side of the bay.
