Kelly Mine - head gear
Kelly Mine - head gear
Kelly Mine was a micaceous haematite mine that closed in the 1940s and has survived very well. This is a recently erected head gear over a concrete lined shaft that gives access to the former workings. The public are not allowed down. The site is opened by a preservation society and is a real industrial archaeological gem.
