Graveley airfield memorial
RAF Graveley opened in February/March 1942 in No 3 Bomber Group, but in August it was allocated to the Pathfinder Force of No 8 Group Bomber Command. No 35 Squadron transferred into No 8 Group and arrived from Linton-on-Ouse with Halifaxes

In September 1946 the two Graveley Squadrons moved to Stradishall and Graveley was put on care and maintenance status and no more RAF units were based there. However it was kept as a reserve airfield for the next 12 years, the main runway was maintained in good condition and regularly used by training aircraft for circuits and bumps. Graveley closed at the end of 1968.
