This area in the Old Arboretum is known as Acer Glade.
Robert Stayner Holford established the arboretum in the 1840s and now, a hundred and seventy years later, thousands of people come each autumn to enjoy the spectacular display of natural colours.

After some damp and misty days, Saturday 27th October was dry and sunny.
This brought the visitors in their thousands to view the autumn colours.
They were not disappointed.
