Not everyone's happy at Swanwick Junction
Not everyone's happy at Swanwick Junction
Midland Railway signals and signal box west of Swanwick Junction station on the Midland Railway - Butterley. The two tracks to the right of the signal box are the heritage railway's main line to Butterley and Hammersmith. The grumpy-looking diesel shunting locomotive behind the box was giving training experience to a potential engine driver by running up and down a branch that once led to the Butterley iron works near Ripley.
