The main carving seems to be a human face on a winged body - a cherub or seraph perhaps? The minor figure on the left of the pinnacle looks a little like 'Spike' LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) from the old Tom and Jerry cartoons but since these were created some time after the Priory then it's unlikely to be him. Then again, the other figure could be Tom the cat ....
