SK2279 : A rare old tree

taken 11 years ago, near to Grindleford, Derbyshire, England

A rare old tree
A rare old tree
Not a rare species, but trees like this are very unusual on the Eastern Moors near Sheffield. Here we were on access land and it was very pleasing to find at least a few scattered trees among the bracken and heathers.
This wonderful panorama in clear winter sunshine showed very many of the edges and tops which are so familiar; Stanage, Burbage, Froggatt and Curbar Edges, Totley Moor, Millstone Edge and Higger Tor.
