CIÉ Metropolitan Vickers built 201 class diesel No. 234 brings southbound cement “bubbles” from Platin outside Drogheda, into Donabate station. Conveyance of cement by rail ended in December 2009. A typical GNR(I) style signal cabin can be seen at left. Donabate cabin closed in 1983, with all manual signalling between Malahide and Drogheda ending on 3 July 1994.
