H3354 : Creamery stand, Crocknamuddy

taken 13 years ago, near to Trillick, Northern Ireland

Creamery stand, Crocknamuddy
This appears to be like a seat built into the side of the wall at the end of the farmer's lane, but my guess is that it was a purpose built platform to hold creamery cans when they used to be collected by the milk lorry. They were a convenient height to be off loaded from the trailer hitched to the tractor without having to jump onto the ground to handle them.
