Dimminsdale Nature Reserve
Dimminsdale Nature Reserve
The reserve is owned by Severn Trent Water and managed by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust. Extensive limestone and lead mining took place in the 18th and 19th centuries and when this ceased the quarries flooded to create a number of pools and brooks. This is the largest pool on the site.
