Viewed from the corner of the B4598 and the road to Bettws Newydd. Recently-installed traffic lights maintain an alternating one-way flow of traffic across this bridge Link carrying the B4598 over the River Usk. This system was installed because of concerns that the bridge is not strong enough to bear the weight of two heavy lorries passing each other on the bridge. When the bridge was opened in 1906, it was used by horses and carts and a few motor cars. Its designers could not have foreseen today's road juggernauts.
