Blarney Castle
Blarney Castle
At the top of the castle lies the Stone of Eloquence, better known as the Blarney Stone, (in the centre of the face on the right), which is said that when kissed gives the gift of eloquence. There are many legends as to the origin of the stone, but some say that it was the Lia Fáil—a magical stone upon which Irish kings were crowned. The original method of kissing the stone was to be held by your ankles and lowered over the parapet, now a stone has been removed and you lie on your back to kiss it !
