Old An Óige Youth Hostel at Humphrystown, near Blessington, Co Wicklow

Humphrystown Youth Hostel was one of An Óige's first, opening in 1932 and closing in 1938, after which Baltyboys Hostel down the road became available. This was the first An Óige Hostel to have men and women under the same roof. By the standards of the time large numbers were being accommodated: there were 1150 overnights by members in 1937 alone.
