TQ2072 : Prince Charles' Spinney, Richmond Park

taken 18 years ago, near to Ham, Richmond Upon Thames, England

Prince Charles' Spinney, Richmond Park
Prince Charles Spinney was planted out in the early 1950s mainly with native trees, protected from the deer by fences, to preserve a natural habitat. The bluebell glade is managed to encourage native British bluebells.

Perhaps the handkerchief tree (Davidia involucrata) was self-seeded here - there is another example in Pembroke Lodge Gardens.
