TQ4023 : Engine No. 263 at Sheffield Park

taken 11 years ago, near to Fletching, East Sussex, England

Engine No. 263 at Sheffield Park
Engine No. 263 at Sheffield Park
Long focal-length shot from the end of the platform, as No. 263 backs up to her train after running round. The engine is an H class 0-4-4T, built for the old South Eastern & Chatham Railway in 1905.

The two head-code discs on the bunker (one with a cross) are SECR style - as seen in photos and postcards of the Edwardian era.
