Cliveden’s Water Tower, disguised as this ornately gilded Clock Tower
This 100 foot tower was completed by the architect Henry Clutton in 1861, ten years after the mansion had been rebuilt by his colleague Sir Charles Barry, who in 1855 had fallen out with the 2nd Duke of Sutherland, the then owner of Cliveden. This once important building can hold 17,000 gallons of water and is said to be still in use today.
