Air-Sea Rescue demonstration off the Central Promenade, Newcastle
This was carried out by a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter of the Irish Coast Guard. This helicopter is familiar to the inhabitants of the Down coast and the Mourne Mountains as air-sea rescue in Northern Ireland is provided by the Republic of Ireland's Coast Guard. A helicopter from Dublin can be on the scene in under 30 minutes and have the patient removed to a Belfast hospital within the Golden Hour.
