St Molua's Church of Ireland, Stormont, Belfast

Enter the Swinging Sixties. Designed by Denis O’D Hanna, and completed in 1962, St Molua’s (CoI) cast aside much that was traditional and/or expected in church architecture. St Molua (sometimes known as Lugaidh, Molloch, Molluog or Murlach) was an Ulsterman born circa 530 who established a number of churches in Scotland – see LinkExternal link for a biography and LinkExternal link for other related photographs on Geograph.
The church is on the Upper Newtownards Road, a short distance past Stormont gates J3973 : Stormont gates, Belfast on the other side of the road.
