Entering Clonmellon from the south along the N52
Clonmellon (Irish: Ráistín) is a small town situated between Delvin and Kells. Unusually the Irish name of the town: Ráistín has been obliterated on the green sign. The Google Street View of March 2009 shows that the defacing is not recent.
Apparently there has been a controversy as to what the correct Irish version of the name should be. All is explained in the following link:
