SS Nomadic
SS Nomadic
The SS Nomadic is a White Star Line steamship launched 1911-04-25. She was built as a tender for RMS Olympic & RMS Titanic, which were too large to dock in Cherbourg harbour. SS Nomadic ferried 1st and 2nd class passengers, their baggage, mail and supplies to and from large ocean liners moored offshore, while her sister ship SS Traffic was used to transfer 3rd class passengers. Her port of registry was Cherbourg, France. Both SS Nomadic and SS Traffic were specifically built to serve the RMS Olympic and RMS Titanic. SS Nomadic's capacity was 1,000 passengers. The SS Nomadic is the last surviving White Star Line vessel.
