Titanic Quarter - One of Two Gigantic H&B Cranes (Samson or Goliath)
Titanic Quarter - One of Two Gigantic H&B Cranes (Samson or Goliath)
Location is along south end of Musgrave Channel Road. The two gigantic H&B cranes were built by the German firm Krupp in 1969 (Goliath at 96 metres and Samson in 1974 at 100 metres). They were not used to build the Titanic & Olympic as some people assume. The two cranes were used to build massive crude oil tankers & bulkers.
