Castles of Munster: Rockett's Castle, Waterford
This 31 foot diameter round tower on the west bank of the Suir passed to Sir Algernon May during the 1650s after it was previously held by Richard Strang. The castle dates from Norman times, having been built by the Rockett family in 1212. The topmost fourth storey is D-shaped having a rebuilt parapet with a lookout and bellcote.
