Setts still survive is several places in Belfast J3373 : Square setts, Belfast, J3281 : Former trolleybus turning circle, Bellevue, Belfast (2) and J3574 : Setts, Belfast (2) but cobbles are rare. This example is at the Tamar Street end of Chater Street. Chater Street dates from the late 19th century and originally had 20 houses. It was bombed by the Luftwaffe and is described in the 1943 street directory as “vacant”. The cobbles may be seen, in their geographical setting in J3674 : Carew Street, Belfast.
