Clanbrassil Barn at Tollymore Forest Park
This Gothic style building, with its clock tower, is reminiscent of a church but was actually built to house the Clydesdale horses employed for heavy work on the estate. The bell in the clock tower marked the beginning and the end of the working day - at 6 am and 6pm. The upper floor of the building was often used as a venue for dances. The Barn, which dates from 1757, has been converted into an information centre, lecture room and visitor toilets.
