Churn Stands, Kelcliffe Lane, Guiseley
Churn Stands, Kelcliffe Lane, Guiseley
These are the remains of the churn stand for Kelcliffe House/Farm. Originally they would have had a plank across at a height that was easy for the churns to be loaded on to the cart. There are the remains of a few more of these stands at the gates of other farms in the area.
Kelcliffe, Guiseley

Area on the side of the Chevin on the outskirts of Guiseley and sitting above the Airedale Gap looking towards Hawksworth and Menston. Kel = spring, Cliff = steep sided. Land was originally on the edge of the Great West Field, and has many springs.
