The Roman Catholic Cathedral Church of St Patrick and St Felim, and the Anglican Parish Church, Cavan Town
The architectural magnificence of the cathedral, its lofty spire and its location on a prominent elevated site makes it the dominant feature on the skyline of the town and dwarfs the nearby Anglican church. It was a product of its age, one of three huge cathedrals begun in the 1930s when Irish Catholic triumphalism reached its peak. The others were at Mullingar and Athlone.
