SE6905 : Bomber Crash Site on Hatfield Moor

taken 17 years ago, 3 km from Wroot, North Lincolnshire, England

Bomber Crash Site on Hatfield Moor
Bomber Crash Site on Hatfield Moor
This is the site where a bomber crashed during the war whilst trying to land at the nearby RAF Lindholme.

The area around this island was previously used for peat extraction but as this stopped only recently the site is now part of Hatfields Moor which is being restored as a large nature reserve.
