Rising tide, Holywood
Rising tide, Holywood
13.45 – without a strong wind to back them the waves were not breaking over the coastal path.
High tide and flood alert, Holywood (6 January 2014)

Some photographs taken at The Esplanade, Holywood, in the period before high water (14.58), Belfast Lough. This was the fourth successive exceptionally high tide since 3 January where flooding had been predicted. In the event, although there been flooding on previous days, today’s slightly lower tide, which was not backed by a strong wind, did not affect neighbouring houses.
