SJ9557 : Caldon Canal Feeder

taken 17 years ago, near to Rudyard, Staffordshire, England

Caldon Canal Feeder
Caldon Canal Feeder
Rudyard Lake was built to supply the Caldon Canal and its neighbours with water. This was taken by a long feeder (which now forms a delightful part of the Staffordshire Moorlands Walk/Staffordshire Way) which, in places, crosses low lying a boggy ground via butyl lined "aqueducts". This one is near Harper's Gate. The feeder joins the canal near Leek at Barnfields.
