SW7442 : Capped Mine Shaft, Wheal Maid Valley

taken 10 years ago, near to Twelveheads, Cornwall, England

Capped Mine Shaft, Wheal Maid Valley
Capped Mine Shaft, Wheal Maid Valley
Numerous different ways of capping old shafts are used in the Poldice/Wheal Maid valley, as other shots for this square show. The area beyond the fence is out of bounds owing both to the instability of the surface but also the possibility of the presence of unknown shafts under the spoil.
