The Glenmachan Road runs from the Belmont Road to the old Holywood Road, near J3876 : Garnerville Presbyterian church, Belfast. It marks the limit of development of suburban east Belfast J3975 : Belfast by the back door. The name J3975 : Glenmachan Road sign, Belfast (1) comes from Glenmachan Tower, an imposing house built in the 1860’s, built by the architect Thomas Jackson, for his own occupation and sold to the linen baron, Sir William Ewart J3373 : Ewart's Building, Belfast - de-listed and demolished in the 1980’s.
