The Aurora Borealis looking over Bangor Bay and Belfast Lough towards County Antrim - the white and yellow lights are from Carrickfergus, Whitehead and at least one ship at anchor in the lough.
The Aurora Borealis from Bangor, February 27th 2014

There was a spectacular display of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) on the evening of February 27th 2014. This is a selection of pictures taken from the coast at Bangor, County Down - not an ideal location as there was a great deal of light pollution. All images taken with high ISOs and long exposures to bring out the colours of the lights.
