H9664 : Shore of Lough Neagh at Derryinver

taken 6 years ago, near to Bannfoot, Northern Ireland

Shore of Lough Neagh at Derryinver
Shore of Lough Neagh at Derryinver
In the distance is Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles, to the northeast of the mouth of the River Bann (Upper). Also visible is a boathouse owned by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure of Northern Ireland, which took over from the Fisheries Conservancy Board in 2009.
Although situated some eight miles from the large urban sprawl of Craigavon, this area has a very serene feel and seems much more remote that it is in reality.
