Hurst Castle Spit and the Needles, Isle of Wight
Hurst Castle Spit and the Needles, Isle of Wight
Walking along Hurst Castle Spit at mid-tide, with a view of the Needles (west coast of the Isle of Wight) in the distance. Notice also the rock groyne to the right, to hold the shingle in place by disrupting longshore drift. Probably constructed from imported Norway granite.
