Window repairs, St Mary's Rickinghall Inferior
The central Millennium panel of glass in the east window of the aisle was designed by Eric Eckersley of Brome and made by
Norfolk Stained Glass. The insertion of this panel was donated by Rickinghall Parish Council and parishioners to commemorate the Millennium. The design shows Christ holding the world in his hands below which is an English oak. Some of the glass in this panel has been infused with copper and this gives a pearly effect to the window at certain times of the day when the sun is shining through it. The remainder of the window was re-leaded in 2013 by Devlin
Plummer Stained Glass Ltd.
The fragments of glass in the upper tracery of the window are medieval, possibly fifteenth century. This glass probably came from windows destroyed in the church either at the reformation or during the civil war. (Rickinghall church guide)
