NX3776 : McKie's Wiel

taken 10 years ago, near to Glentrool Village, Dumfries And Galloway, Scotland

McKie's Wiel
McKie's Wiel
Oak trees reflected in the still surface of McKie's Wiel. 'Wiel' is a Scots word for a slow deep pool in a river. I don't know why this pool is so named, but McKie is a common name locally.
