This is the upper part of a very well preserved headstone which features an open bible and a reference to John IV: 16 (“Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither”). The full inscription reads “ERECTED by SUSANNA SMILEY in loving memory of Her Husband JAMES SMILEY who died at Ballyoran 10th September 1886 Aged 29 years. Also their son WILLIAM who died 3rd May 1887. Aged 11 months.
