SN9819 : Section Post at Pont Ar Daf

taken 10 years ago, 5 km NNW of Nant-Ddu, Powys, Wales

Section Post at Pont Ar Daf
Section Post at Pont Ar Daf
This is a section post or pillbox covering the anti tank blocks on the old Merthyr to Brecon road. It has recently been revealed with the cutting down of the small tree plantation to the south of the path to Pen y Fan. This pillbox is forward of and covered by the section post and machine gun pillbox by the river (see my other photos) which are approximately 200m north.

In the photo, the old road is the overgrown piece of tarmac sloping down to the pillbox. You can just see the AT Blocks. The new main road, A470, is to the right, with the truck on it.
