Galway City - Salmon Weir across River Corrib
View is to the northeast from the west end of the Salmon Weir Bridge, along the north side of R863 (University Road), across from the east (main) entrance to Galway Cathedral. A larger portion of the River Corrib flows downstream over the salmon weir to the left and a smaller portion of the River Corrib bypasses the salmon weir upstream and flows around the weir at a higher level as a narrow canal.
