SN0728 : Derelict bridge with wildflower meadow

taken 10 years ago, near to Rosebush, Pembrokeshire/Sir Benfro, Wales

Derelict bridge with wildflower meadow
Derelict bridge with wildflower meadow
The wildflower meadow at Ysgol Hill farm has never been subjected to pesticides.
The bridge crosses over the original railway line to Fishguard. It became redundant shortly before WWI when the current line to Fishguard was built further to the west on a route which was more direct, less sharply curved, and thus involving heavy engineering works. The original line carried freight traffic until c1950 and was then closed.
