SJ2970 : Pathfinder in the River Dee

Pathfinder in the River Dee
Pathfinder in the River Dee
On the edge of the River Dee Pathfinder is aground in a sea of mud, and it looks as though she hasn't moved for some time. Anchored and propped in position I don't think it is likely to be going fishing again. It is aground just on the point of the MHW line indicated on the map, but occasionally high tides still inundate the whole of this marginal area. Perhaps surprisingly, the entire river, including this muddy tidal marshland is an SSSI. The main river channel is out of sight to the right of the photo, and to the left of the boat it is just possible to make out the Hawarden Bridge railway bridge at Shotton.
