Tean Hall Mills LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) and the Cheadle Mill LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) provided much needed employment in the two towns.
The Heath House was the subject of Channel 4's programme Country House Rescue in 2010 and has been the location for a number of films and TV series.
