Lava Flow
The promontory on which the Scottish Seabird Centre stands is made up of three lava flows, all dipping to the west. The rocks on the right here are mugearite of the middle flow, and on the left is a spur of the topmost flow, which is of hawaiite lava. The island of Craigleith is visible beyond the sailing boat.
