North Berwick Law
North Berwick Law
The Law is a 'crag and tail' structure; the 'crag' is the hard plug of rock, and the 'tail', seen here, is the slope of till left by the glacier which moved eastwards over the crag during the last ice age and dropped some of its load of debris downstream of the crag. The outline of the tail can be traced on the map as a ridge stretching over a mile east from here.
