Castles of Connacht: Castlecoote, Roscommon (5 of 10)

Originally circular in plan, these are the remains of both the NE and SE corner flanking towers of the old castle. These still stand over 40 feet in height on the lawn in front of the house, remnants of Sir Charles Coote's C17 fortifications.
