TM3035 : Felixstowe Rail Terminus

taken 10 years ago, near to Felixstowe, Suffolk, England

Felixstowe Rail Terminus
Felixstowe Rail Terminus
View from the rail bridge on Garrison Lane.

Much diminished from its heyday. Felixstowe Station has lost its grand terminal building and concourse as well as its forecourt designed for horse drawn carriages and its goods yard. Only one platform remains and this has been savagely cut off to a fraction of its original length. The wasteland to the left is former railway land and is currently subject to planning consent for the erection of a supermarket.
