S3157 : The Wellington monument

The Wellington monument
The Wellington monument
This monument was originally built as a folly, to be seen from the west (left) only. It has recently been restored, and the spiral staircase (exactly 50 steps) added to give access to a splendid viewing platform. Of course one has to hope that the forestry people, when replanting, don't manage to obscure the view once more.
